i found myself doing that when i was invited to an outdoor party/music event. i'm usually used to either going to one or the other but not a mixture of both so i wasn't quite sure what was appropriate for the occasion. since it was a party i knew i wanted to go for a look that was slightly dressy but at the same time i wanted to be comfortable for when it came to watching the show.
so i chose a fitted lace skirt to be dressy, a sparkly knitted boxy sweater and thick heeled booties which gave me a combination of glam, comfort and warmth. since the sweater had a high round neck for my finishing touch i chose a long gold necklace which helped to create an illusion of a long v-neck.
*tip of the day: thick sweaters/turtlenecks can make you look top heavy. so try wearing a long pendant necklace or put your hair up in a high ponytail/bun and wear a pair of long chandelier earrings. this will help to create an illusion of a long neck and make your torso look long.
